APFD3 awarded $97,800.00 Grant.

Allen Parish Fire District 3 was awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant for 2009.  This grant is for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) more specifically SCBA (Self Contained Breating Apparatus) and training material.  This is a very big thing for a small rural department such as ours that does not have the financial resources to buty these on our own.  The grant award amount is $97,800.00 of which we only have to match 5% or $4,890.00.  These funds will allow us to acquire at least 18 new SCBA.  Thank you Uncle Sam!
